چکیده
Abstract This study has quantified basic wood density and various types of shrinkage in relation to initial spacing (or planting density) tree growth based on a 48-year-old black spruce ( Picea mariana ) trial eastern Canada. A total 139 sample trees were collected from four spacings (3086, 2500, 2066, 1372 trees/ha) for this study. Analyses variance (ANOVA) show that is the most important parameter affecting significantly, followed by diameter at breast height (DBH) class. With increasing spacing, density, radial volumetric tend decrease, whereas longitudinal tends increase gradually. The largest lowest smallest transverse shrinkage. Path analysis indicates shrinkage, distance pith. Furthermore, much variation with may be due DBH also reveals mainly related log height, increase, decrease. class, have an decreasing Overall, suggests large (e.g., might lead significant reduction both spruce.

Wood Density-Climate Relationships Are Mediated by Dominance Class in Black Spruce (Picea mariana (Mill.) B.S.P.)
The relationships between climate and wood density components, i.e., minimum ring density, maximum ring density and mean ring density have been studied mainly in dominant trees. However, the applicability of the findings to trees of other dominance classes is unclear. The aim of this study was to address whether climate differentially influences wood density components among dominance classes. ...
متن کاملElevated growth temperatures reduce the carbon gain of black spruce [Picea mariana (Mill.) B.S.P.]
We explored the effect of high-growth temperatures on a dominant North American boreal tree, black spruce [Picea mariana (Mill.) B.S.P.]. In 2004 and 2005, we grew black spruce at either 22 1C/16 1C day/night temperatures [low temperature (LT)] or 301/24 1C [high temperature (HT)] and determined how temperature affected growth, leaf morphology, photosynthesis, respiration and thermotolerance. H...

: examining l2 teachers’ corrective feedback types in relation to learners’ uptake, proficiency levels, and context types
abstract this study investigates the teachers’ correction of students’ spoken errors of linguistic forms in efl classes, aiming at (a) examining the relationship between the learners’ proficiency level and the provision of corrective feedback types, (b) exploring the extent to which teachers’ use of different corrective feedback types is related to the immediate types of context in which err...
How do drought and warming influence survival and wood traits of Picea mariana saplings?
Warming and drought will occur with increased frequency and intensity at high latitudes in the future. How heat and water stress can influence tree mortality is incompletely understood. The aim of this study was to evaluate how carbon resources, stem hydraulics, and wood anatomy and density determine the ability of black spruce saplings to survive daytime or night-time warming (+ 6 °C in compar...
